Clapham Junction 3000 years of Maltese Heritage

CLAPHAM JUNCTION is well known for its intriguing display of the enigmatic ‘cart-ruts’. Many visitors, however, are unaware of the number of other interesting prehistoric and historic remains that can ‒ un-restrictedly ‒ be examined and appreciated within the locality. Indeed, there are very few other places in Malta where so many enduring physical features, reflecting the Nations long archaeological and historical legacy, can be found in such a geographically limited area.
Today, CLAPHAM JUNCTION and its environs are almost totally depopulated; this, though, has not always been so. At different periods, in both prehistoric and historic times, people from diverse cultural backgrounds chose, for reasons that are largely irrelevant today, to form sustainable communities which have left their mark on this now neglected part of southeast Malta.
With the aid of detailed maps and photographs this book identifies and discusses, in considerable detail, what is of archaeological and historical interest to be found in and around the area popularly known as CLAPHAM JUNCTION.
