A review of five major categories of lithogenetic and morphogenetic terrain types meet the complex terrain criteria: landslides, field photos of slope failures, bedrocks, nonglacial surficial deposits, glacial and alpine-glacial, and periglacial. Interpretations are based on personal knowledge and available background materials.
