About Deborah Gale Tirico

Deborah Gale Tirico is an avid needle artist and trained graphic designer. She has studied appliqué with a variety of national teachers and continues to study historical appliqué quilts and coverlets at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her area of specialization is the creation of a sculptural look to felted wool appliqué by using needle- slanting techniques and the layering and stuffing of wool pieces. Deborahs designs feature matching and overdyed wool threads and embroidery embellishments which enhance and define the clarity of her subject. She has been an active member of The Embroiderers Guild of America since 2004 and enjoys teaching at chapter meetings and regional national and international seminars. She regularly teaches her art at guilds events and festivals across the United States and has been featured in Designers Across America Needle Arts (September 2014).
