Leigh Straw is an award-winning fiction and non-fiction writer. Her book `After the War: Returned Soldiers and the Mental and Physical Scars of World War 1'' was joint winner of the 2018 Margaret Medcalf Award. Leigh''s true crime book `The Worst Woman in Sydney: The Life and Crimes of Kate Leigh'' was longlisted for an ABIA and her recent book `Lillian Armfield: How Australia''s First Female Detective Took On Tilly Devine And The Razor Gangs And Changed The Face Of the Force'' has received widespread critical acclaim. Leigh is a Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Notre Dame Fremantle Campus.
