About Mark Goodwin

Mark Goodwin was born in 1969 spent his childhood on a farm in Leicestershire and now lives on a narrow-boat on the river Soar just north of Leicester. He works as a community poet with a wide range of people including pupils and teachers in schools and colleges other writers and artists museum services and with people who use mental-health services.Mark has been learning to write poetry since he was 16 and during that time has developed a love of playing with language. All of his Shearsman collections reflect his deep interest in what has been termed 'landscape'-whether that be on a run-down housing estate on the rim of Leicester in an ancient stone circle on the edge of the Hebrides or in amongst the intricacies of Cornish coastland.
