A years anthology of South Africas best political cartoons, this hilarious compilation also narrates the story of the countrys epic hosting of the FIFA World Cup. Corruption scandals, counterfeit currency, dodgy judges, eco-disasters, lifestyle audits, paternity scandals, and all the usual gaffes and catastrophes are momentarily sidelined by a month of deafening soccer madness. An interesting reexamination of South African society, this unique chronicle covers all of 2010s notable occurrences.

About Andy Mason
John Curtis is the curator of the online showcase of political cartoons at http://AfriCartoons.com South Africa's best cartooning website and runs a Cape Town-based design agency. Previously political cartoonist on the Cape Argus Curtis continues to provide cartoon ideas on a regular basis to other cartoonists including Jerm Dr Jack and Zapiro. Since the late '70s when his Vittoke in Azania comix began appearing in the student press Andy Mason (N.D. Mazin) has been actively involved in cartooning and comic art. After working for alternative publications like Staffrider Learn and Teach Upbeat and New Ground in the 1980s he co-founded the Durban agency Artworks Communications and published the underground comix magazines PAX (Pre-Azanian Comix) and Mamba Comix. In 2008 he moved to Cape Town and co-founded the Centre for Comic Illustrative and Book Arts (CCIBA) at Stellenbosch University. His book What's So Funny? Under the Skin of South African Cartooning will be jointly launched with Just For Kicks!
