Monsieur Pamplemousse and the Militant Midwives

English

By (author): Michael Bond

When required to attend funeral of an old colleague, Monsieur Pamplemousse knows it is not likely to be a good day. But when the coffin explodes, and the mourners are saved only by the warning howl of his trusty bloodhound Pomes Frites, he realises there is something else afoot entirely. Who is behind the explosion, and his friend's death? Monsieur Pamplemousse is subsequently informed of a dire threat to French national security. A terrorist group is planning to poison the food chain, and the food sleuth, together with Pommes Frites, must spearhead an elite group to stop the catastrophe. As sharp and witty as ever, Michael Bond's latest Monsieur Pamplemousse adventure is a real delicacy. See more
