The surviving daughter told police Theresa had ordered her own sons to drug, torture and then burn alive one girl. She had also starved the other sister to death. At first the police found the story so grotesque that they refused to believe it was true. But evidence continued to mount and, after some five years, Theresa was finally charged with being the executioner of her own children.
