At the outer edge of their solar system, on the mining planet Tisa, Flint and her mother live in the colony of Swift Springs. Displaced by a nuclear event, Flints family had settled there two generations ago to become miners. After apprenticing at the refinery, every day for Flint is tedium -- and she can't stop thinking about what life had been like at their old family home.
