About Mary Shelley

About the AuthorMary Shelley (1797-1851) is best remembered as the author of the classic novel Frankenstein but she wrote several other works as well including Valperga and The Last Man. Born in London she was the only daughter of writers William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin. She was married to the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley managing his estate and raising their son upon his passing.About the Publisher Many great things begin with a tiny spark and for Manuel H. Barron that spark came from a mimeograph machine in the basement of his Brooklyn NY bookstore in the late 1930s. People from the community asked Mr. Barron for books to help their children study for the New York State Regents exams. After realizing there wasn't anything available Mr. Barron created his own study guides.
