About Tony Perkins

Tony Perkins is a passionate and powerful communicator of God's word. Having served as a pastor in Louisiana Tony has also filled the pulpits of churches across the country. He is the creator of Stand on the Word a daily journey through the Bible as events happened chronologically in an effort to get more believers reading the Bible (see FRC.org/Bible). As host of Washington Watch a nationally syndicated broadcast on multiple media platforms Tony is raising and resourcing a new generation of SAGECons(Spiritually Active Governance Engaged Conservatives) with a biblical worldview. He has served as president of Family Research Council in Washington DC since 2003 and is former chair of the U.S. Commission on international religious freedom. Tony and his wife Lawana have been married since 1986 and have five children and a growing number of grandchildren.
