About Rubén Ardila

Ruben Ardila is emeritus investigator of the Minister of Science Technology and Innovation of Colombia and emeritus professor of psychology at the National University of Colombia (Bogotá). He received his Ph.D. in experimental psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA). He has been visiting professor in the United States Germany Spain Argentina and Puerto Rico. Dr. Ardila has published 34 books some of them translated into other languages and more than 300 scientific papers and book chapters in several countries and in several languages. He was during 12 years member of the Executive Committee of the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS)  member of the Executive Directors Board of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). Was vice-President of the Colombian Association for the Advancement of Science and he belongs to many professional organizations among them APA (fellow of several divisions including Division  52 International Psychology  among others) the  International Council of Psychologists (ICP) the  International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP) and others. His work on historical issues has centered on international psychology and Latin American psychology. He has received several Awards among them the Interamerican Society of Psychology (SIP) 1983 Award and several degrees of doctor honoris causa. In 2004 the APA Division 52 granted him the Distinguished Psychologist Award. In 2007 the American Psychological Association (APA) granted him the APA Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Psychology. In 2022 he received the 2022 International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) Professional Contributions Award.
