John Dee was a much respected mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, occultist, alchemist and adviser to Queen Elizabeth I, but subsequently derided as a conjurer and a trickster. Dee became Queen Elizabeth''s trusted advisor on astrological and scientific matters, choosing her coronation date himself.
