About Charlotte Jones

Charlotte Jones has written six stage plays: Airswimming In Flame Martha Josie and the Chinese Elvis Humble Boy The Dark and The Lightning Play. She won the Critics' Circle Most Promising Playwright award 1999. Martha Josie and the Chinese Elvis won the Pearson TV Best New Play Award and Manchester Evening News Best New Play Award 1999. Humble Boy won the Critics' Circle Best New Play 2001 Susan Smith Blackburn Award People's Choice Best New Play 2001 and was nominated for an Olivier award and a Drama Desk Award. It ran at the National Theatre and in the West End and has since been produced all over the world. She also she wrote the book for Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical of Wilkie Collins' novel The Woman in White (lyrics by David Zippel) which ran in the West End and on Broadway. She has also written for extensively for TV Film and Radio.
