About Gillian Cross

Gillian Cross is perhaps best known for her Demon Headmaster series and its BBC adaptation. She has won many of the most prestigious awards for childrens fiction including the Carnegie Medal the Whitbread Childrens Book Award and the Smarties Prize. She lives near Coventry with her husband.||Ross Collins describes his younger self as looking like a currant bun and being very fond of drawing. He is still fond of drawing and is now an award-winning author and illustrator but no longer bears any great resemblance to baked goods. His picture book The Elephantom was adapted by the National Theatre. Ross lives in Glasgow.
