Clement Moore's beloved poem has been a cherished part of the holidays for over a hundred and fifty years, and Tasha Tudor's delicate watercolors make this book a gift to her readers. Recreating her own Vermont farm home, her illustrations enliven the poem with all the charm of an old-fashioned country Christmas: handmade gifts under a candle-lit tree, stockings hanging by an open fire, and a magical visit from Saint Nicholas.
Tasha Tudor's affectionate watercolors evoke the warmth and gentleness of a simpler time. Her whimsical characters and period detail are the perfect match for the world's most beloved Christmas poem, making this elegant gift edition one that will be treasured by families for generations. See more

About Julie Downing

Clement Clarke Moore wrote his poem An Account of a Visit From Saint Nicholas later called The Night Before Christmas in 1822. Moore was a professor of religion and the author of several scholarly works but it was the warm-hearted poem he wrote as a Christmas present for his children for which he is best remembered.
