About Valerie Darnley

Valerie Darnley was born in Shropshire during WWII. She has lived and studied across England returning finally to her home county of Kent with herhusband. A staunch humanitarian Valerie has always been fascinated by the natural world its flora and fauna. She has travelled widely across Europe and Australia with her family and her interests include music and choral singing reading and the arts. Throughout her long career in education she has also been a committed volunteer now also a client in support of charities for the blind. The Welcome Place is her first collection of poetry.
