About R. D. Dikstra

R.D. Dikstra was born and brought up in Scotland. He became interested in wildlife and conservation after spending two weeks whale watching in Alaska. In the late 90's he helped set up a travel company taking small groups to see some of the world's most threatened species. He first saw a tiger in 2009. He felt that whilst these magnificent creatures are under considerable threat it was not all doom and gloom and sought to tell a story that might introduce children to conservation in a fun and idiosyncratic way.
