About Alana I. JamesKevin Wilson-SmithVictoria Bourne

Victoria Bourne is Professor (Teaching Focussed) at Royal Holloway University of London. She has taught research methodology and statistical analysis at all levels from first year undergraduate students through to advanced postdoctoral researchers. At Royal Holloway she is Director of Teaching and Learning in the Department of Psychology and she coordinates and teaches on the first and second year undergraduate research modules. Professor Bourne is the author of Starting Out in Methods and Statistics for Psychology published by OUP in 2017. Alana James is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences University of Reading. She has taught qualitative and quantitative research methods in psychology at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and runs training in the use of interviews and focus groups for education professionals. At Reading Dr James is a School Director of Teaching and Learning and in 2019 she won the Higher Education Psychology Teacher of the Year Award run by Oxford University Press and the British Psychological Society Division of Academics Researchers & Teachers in Psychology (BPS DART-P). Kevin Wilson-Smith was formerly a senior academic in the school of Psychology at the University of Glasgow (thematic lead for qualitative methods) and is currently an NHS Consultant Scientist at Public Health Scotland. He has taught both quantitative and qualitative methods at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and also specialises in Military Psychology. He has served as Vice Chair of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Academics Researchers & Teachers in Psychology (BPS DART-P) and is also a committee member of the BPS Research Board.
