WALKING BORDERS: In Fife and in Fancies

English

By (author): Hamish Brown

During the summer of 2020, after Hamish had walked the entire Fife Coastal Path between Kincardine to Newburgh to write Exploring the Fife Coastal Path, a friend asked him what ploy would he come up with next. Being fascinated with boundaries, Hamish decided to attempt to walk the boundaries of Fife, also from Kincardine to Newburgh. Hamish walked through autumn days, following the natural features of hills, rivers, forests and paths and passing through Fife villages and towns, he zigzagged wherever the boundary took him. He met interesting folk and animals along the way, including dogs but also emus, alpaca and buffalo. He was undeterred by bogs and streams. This is not a guide book but one that shows Hamish's delight in the outdoors, his curiosity and above all his sense of humour. It is certainly a fine octogenarian's adventure. See more
