Poetry is like magic, in just a few words it can change the way you feel, leave you thinking, and alter your perspective. Where Friendship is made and Family Begins, is a collection of poems that will inspire you. It has been written and designed to awaken your emotions. Life can be complicated, it fills us with longing, dreams, desires, secrets, love and pain. The poems in this book has been written in a way that no matter where your life takes you, or whatever journey you are on, there is a poem that will resonate deep within you, a poem has been written just for you. About Kathleen Harryman

As I child I loved pretending to be an author. I use to fill page after page with scribblings mimicking my favourite authors. Now I write as an author myself I cannot express the feeling of fulfilment that this provides. It is truly wonderful to see my childhood dreams take substance. My books are based in and around Yorkshire and I really enjoy writing about the area in which I live and have grown up in. There is something special about writing about places that have created so many childhood memories.
