About Courtney ReinischJanice SmolowitzJudy Honig

Janice Smolowitz EdD DNP ANP-BC DCC is Senior Associate Dean Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing and Co-Director of the DNP program at Columbia University School of Nursing (CUSN). She has been a member of the faculty since 1998. Dr. Smolowitz oversees the universal faculty/ practice plan at CUSN. In addition to her administrative responsibilities Dr. Smolowitz teaches in the DNP program and chairs the DNP Portfolio and Comprehensive Examination Committees. She has been an invited member in several national committees including National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty (NONPF) Practice Doctorate Nurse Practitioner Entry-Level Competencies (2006). She is a member of American Board of Comprehensive Care Clinical Scholars Review and Parkinson's Study Group. Dr. Smolowitz is a Diplomat in Comprehensive Care and practiced as an Adult Nurse Practitioner for 18 years in primary adult health. For the past nine years she has practiced in the Movement Disorders Center of the Neurological Institute at Columbia University Medical Center. She participates in clinical research as both co-investigator and principle investigator. ||Judy Honig EdD DNP CPNP is Associate Dean of Student Affairs Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing and Director of the DNP program at Columbia University School of Nursing (CUSN). She has been a faculty member since 1988. In addition to her administrative and practice responsibilities Dr. Honig conducts research related to heath status of minority children participates in curriculum development clinical and classroom teaching and is a member of the DNP Portfolio Committee. Dr. Honig has served on several national committees pertaining to the DNP degree including the AACN Task Forces for the Practice Doctorate and DNP Essentials NONPF's Clinical Leadership Committee and NAPNAP's DNP Position Statement Committee. Dr. Honig has practiced as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for 25 years and has been an attending/faculty nurse practitioner at Children's Hospital of New York since 1994. She has a faculty practice in an urban pediatric primary care and maintains a practice in behavioral pediatrics.|Courtney Reinisch DNP FNP-BC DCC is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing (CUSN). She has been a member of the faculty since 2007. Dr. Reinisch teaches in the DNP and Master's degree programs. She is a member of the CUSN DNP Portfolio Committee and Comprehensive Examination Committee as well as the CUSN Curriculum Committee. Most recently she has participated in the Emergency Nurses Association working group for validation methods for Nurse Practitioners in the emergency department setting. She presented her portfolio as the Terminal Scholarly Project at NONPF in 2008. Dr. Reinisch is a Diplomat in Comprehensive Care. She has practiced as a bilingual Family Nurse Practitioner for 10 years providing care to underserved populations in urban and suburban settings in both family practice and emergency medicine. She has implemented institutional practice changes through quality improvement initiatives creating a model for an expanded advance practice nursing role in the emergency department. This model is being replicated in emergency departments nationally
