Y Coed Remembers Beibio: The Saga of the Early-Flowering Linden

The Spirit of the ancient woodland, Y. Coed, resides in a solitary lime tree which, is old and in decline. The Spirit is threatened by the development of a surrounding conifer landscape, which has cut it off from its broadleaf kind. Owen is a newcomer to the area and is acting as caretaker of his sister''s cottage. A keen ecologist and poet, he wanders the countryside and forms a profoundly mysterious bond with the lime tree. Whilst overcome, through mystical experiences, he receives the spirits plea... I am spirit of the Gentle Mingui Limes Be still and hear my plea... Restore me to the deepness Y Coed Let my ancient spell continue to enchant... Through you I shall unburden the anguish of my soul. The Spirit is both the history and the memory of the ancient woodland and tells the tale `Y Coed remembers Beibio'' to communicate its plight and hence elicit Owen''s help. Through developing relationships with local friends of his sister, Owen constructs a plan, which will influence the fate of the spirit. See more
