About Anita ImpagliazzoMarcel Durieux
Marcel Durieux has dedicated nearly 15 years to beekeeping on his Charlottesville property managing hives with his wife Marijke. As a professor at the University of Virginia's School of Medicine USA he used his research expertise to scrutinize traditional and 'natural' beekeeping practices finding that many lacked scientific support. This led him to develop and share the evidence-based techniques in this book. His international experiences particularly in East Africa further shaped his approach. Marcel is a recognized speaker at Virginia beekeeping events. Anita Impagliazzo a medical and scientific illustrator and designer has been beekeeping since 2019 when the Central Virginia Beekeeping Association assigned Marcel as her mentor. She manages hives in multiple Virginia counties.
