Luis Cruz Azaceta: No Exit

English, Spanish

By (author): Carlosa Aguilera

Iván de la Nuez describes Luis Cruz Azaceta's work as an aesthetics of constant escapes. His imaginative creations, ranging from figuration to abstraction, narrate anguish, pain, shipwrecks, violence... And yet they are simultaneously an escape from them: a means of coming to terms with and challenging a dark past. His paintings reflect his unique perspective as an exile in the United States. This book captures the mood of these impressive artworks, displaying them in an accessible format. Text in English and Spanish. See more
