MICHAEL BIERUT (Introduction) is a graphic designer design critic and educator. He studied graphic design at the University of Cincinnati and has been a partner in the New York office of Pentagram for over fifteen years. In addition to co-founding the website Design Observer and writing several books on the topic of graphic design Michael is a Senior Critic in Graphic Design at the Yale School of Art where he has been lecturing since 1993.
