Commander Geoffrey Greenish spent all 47 years of his working life from the age of 17 to 65 in the service of his country and he can truthfully say that it was extremely varied, interesting and satisfying. These memoirs cover his professional career rather than his personal and family life, but there were times when the two became intertwined. On these occasions and where the family have influenced his career, they have been included. Indeed, the book is dedicated to his family, particularly the younger members.
