About Maurie Garland

Maurie Garland is a former schoolteacher who writes Australian historical non-fiction. The Trials of Isabella Mary Kelly his first book in 2005 (Brolga; 978 1922036 53 7) was used by Di Morrissey as the basis for her novel The Valley. He has also produced The Swiss Swagman Jimmy Governor: Blood on the Tracks and Horace Dean: A Pocket Full of Lies. His latest book was Who Poisoned Mary Dean? (Brolga; 2020; 978 0987639011).
