Bringing together the fields of animal studies and postcolonial studies, Multispecies Modernity explores how these fields can complicate and enrich one another. Each chapter considers a zone of proximity between human and nonhuman beings. These spaces link animal-human relations to a politics of postcolonial identity by transgressing the logics of modernity imposed on the postcolonial nation.
