Dogs and Homeopathy - A Pocket Guide

English

By (author): Peter Gregory

Dogs and people have evolved together over several millennia, to our mutual benefit, but this close relationship brings with it the responsibility to care for our animals to the best of our ability. Similarly, homeopathy for animals has developed in parallel with its use in people, using remedies which are safe, gentle and effective. Depending on the circumstances, homeopathy can be used alone or alongside conventional medicine, but in particular, its early deployment can prevent the development of significant illness, helping to keep our dogs healthy, rather than treating them when they are already ill.

In this book Peter Gregory brings together the knowledge and experience gained from 40 years of treating dogs in homeopathic veterinary practice. It is designed as a guide and reference to aid in selecting homeopathic remedies for dogs, based on their symptoms. The first chapter provides a brief understanding of homeopathy, what it is and how to use it. This is followed by a guide to appropriate remedies for a wide variety of ailments, each chapter covering a particular area of the body, and separate chapters for young and old dogs. The final two chapters cover the 'general symptoms ' and 'mental symptoms' which together mark homeopathy as a holistic form of medicine, treating each individual as a whole.

It should be of use to owners, breeders, veterinarians and anyone involved in animal welfare, as a quick and concise guide to the homeopathic treatment of dogs.

About Peter Gregory

Peter Gregory qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1972. For the first 12 years of his career he worked in mixed practice first in UK and subsequently in Australia. During this time he gradually became dissatisfied with the results of conventional medicine. Seeking an alternative he returned to UK and was introduced to homeopathy; having tried it out in practice he resolved to learn more. He gained Veterinary Membership of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1991 and was awarded Fellowship in 2004. He now works on referral for the Holistic Veterinary Medicine Centre in Sussex. He was a partner in the Homeopathic Professionals Teaching Group and has lectured extensively overseas. Peter is a past President of the British Association of Homeopathic Veterinary Surgeons and the International Association for Veterinary Homeopathy. He is author of Insights into Veterinary Homeopathy Homeopathy for Animals and co-author of the Textbook of Veterinary Homeopathy.
