Well Prepared: A Course Handbook

Supporting people in preparing for the momentous physical, emotional, and spiritual challenge posed by dying is a high calling but is also a demanding one. It can be hugely rewarding but also carries some risks. The advice given in this handbook is based on work that has taken place over five years: evaluating courses, delivering training to clergy and other church leaders, listening to the feedback of course facilitators and participants, and in the light of all of this refining an understanding of best practice. This means that the advice has a good evidence-base so unnecessary risks should be reduced. But by its very nature engaging with mortality is an edgy undertaking (no pun intended!), and there is no such thing as a risk-free zone. See more
