About

Associate Professor Joshua Aston is the Associate Dean of Law and a member of the School Executive at the School of Business and Law Edith Cowan University. He is also the Chair of the University Students Appeal Committee. In his past roles he has served as Assistant Professor Dean (SW) and Officer on Special Duty to the Vice Chancellor Gujarat National Law University based in Gandhinagar. Prior to that he served as Assistant Professor and Deputy Director of Symbiosis Law School Pune. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at Amity University based in India. He is a recipient of the DAAD scholarship from Germany and served as a Research Scholar in the Institute of Air Space and Cyber Law University of Cologne Germany for a period of three months. He is also an Asian Law Institute Fellow and was invited by the National University of Singapore Singapore for 2 months. He received the Israeli Government Scholarship channelised through the Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India and served as a Research Fellow at Buchmann Faculty of Law Tel Aviv University Israel for a period of eight months. He is a member of the Council of Australian Law Deans (peak body representing Australias 39 university Law Schools) since 2019 and has been representing ECU at this forum. He is an author of over 11 books some of the acclaimed text are Trafficking of Women and Children Article 7 of the Rome Statute (2015) and Torture Behind Bars Role of the Police Force in India (2020) both published by Oxford University Press Professor Aditya Tomer currently serves as the Additional Director/Joint Head of Amity Law School Noida at Amity University. As an academic he possesses a diverse range of interests spanning various disciplines. With over 65 publications including books monographs research papers and articles in both academic and popular publications he is recognized as a prolific writer. Professor Tomer is deeply committed to research and has supervised numerous Ph.D. and LLM candidates in their studies. His research endeavors primarily focus on empirical and multidisciplinary approaches particularly within the realms of Right to Information Arbitration and Mediation Human Rights and Business Law. Under his leadership the quality of journals such as the Amity International Journal of Juridical Sciences Journal of Multi-disciplinary Studies Journal of Legal Studies and Research and Ami Code 3-Newsletter of Law has been significantly enhanced. Moreover Professor Tomer has played a pivotal role in advancing the Law School through the organization of various national and international conferences workshops panel discussions moot court competitions and legal aid initiatives all of which enjoy a strong reputation within the academic community. He has also contributed to the examination systems having served as a paper setter and evaluator for the Tripura State Public Service Commission and the UPSSC judicial exams. Additionally Professor Tomer is a Life Member of the All-India Law Teachers Congress further demonstrating his commitment to the legal education community. Mr. Rupendra Singh earned his law degree from Bharti Vidyapeeth Deemed University in Pune and his Master's in Corporate Law from National Law University. He has practiced at the Supreme Court of India and various subordinate courts and commissions in Delhi. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Law at Amity Law School Noida part of Amity University. Before this role he was a faculty member at the School of Law Lovely Professional University. His primary areas of interest include Comparative Technology Law Corporate Law and Intellectual Property Law. Mr. Singh has authored over 35 publications including books chapters research papers and articles in both national and international magazines. He also conducts training for law students in moot court start-ups and legal writing.
