    About Michael Cooper

    Michael Cooper has a D. Phil. from Oxford University where he was a Wolfson Scholar and is Honorary Curator of Palaeontology at the Durban Natural Science Museum as well as an Emeritus Professor of Geology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He has studied the Cretaceous geology and palaeontology of south-central Africa for almost 50 years concerned mainly with the biostratigraphy evolution and classification of the molluscan faunas (ammonites bivalves) and echinoids. He has published over 120 scientific articles on these subjects his research involving fieldwork in South Africa Zimbabwe Mozambique and Angola.
