About Peter Riley

Peter Riley was born into an environment of working people in the Manchester area in 1940 and now lives in retirement in Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire. His most recent books are The Glacial Stairway (Carcanet Press 2011) and Due North (Shearsman Books 2015) a book-length poem which was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection 2015. He regularly contributes reviews of new poetry to the website The Fortnightly Review and a collection of these was issued in book form under the title The Fortnightly Reviews 2012-2014.
