About American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Obesity

The AAP Section on Obesity (SOOb) is comprised of a diverse group of 600 general pediatricians pediatric subspecialists pediatric surgeons and allied health professionals who have an interest in the field of pediatric obesity prevention assessment. and treatment. The SOOb is governed by an Executive Committee of six obesity experts and its mission is to improve the health and well-being of children and families by reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity and promoting healthy active living.
