About Yoshihisa Sugimura

Dr. Yoshihisa Sugimura is Research Coordinator for Advanced Port Technology Port Coastal and Marine Department National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management Ministry of Land Infrastructure Transport and Tourism. He completed the Graduate School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo and joined the Ministry of Land Infrastructure Transport and Tourism in 1999. He has more than 20 years of experience in policy making legislation and port projects including a secondment to the Ministry of the Environment. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo and has been in his current position since 2023. He was a professor at Kyushu University from 2020 for three years. He specializes in researching port logistics and environmental policies and has published many papers in international journals. He is well-versed in the practical and academic aspects of the port logistics and environmental fields.
