Materialität und Medialität: Grundbedingungen einer anderen Ästhetik in der Vormoderne

Aesthetic acts and artifacts are conditioned just as much by their materials as by the medial processes in which they are embedded. This interdisciplinary volume delves into the semantics and resistances of material as well as materials own logic. On the other hand, it uses mediality to draw out the central aesthetic tension between artistic creation and the socially oriented functions of mediation.
