Joshua Hyles editor of the volume holds a Master of Arts in History from Baylor University Texas USA as well as separate Bachelors of Arts and Sciences in archaeology history and classical languages. He serves as the Executive Program Director of the Eugene Scassa Mock OAS Program an intercollegiate academic conference and competition involving undergraduate graduate and law school students from across the United States Mexico and the Caribbean. Mr. Hyles has written short works for multiple publishers in the fields of Colonial American History International Relations Indigenous History and Latin American studies and has served as chief editor for the anthologies The Americas and the New World Order Inter-American Relations: Past Present and Future Trends and The Cultural Fabric of the Americas. His most recent monograph Guiana and the Shadows of Empire a study of the colonial legacies of Guyana Suriname and French Guiana has been recognized internationally as a valuable contribution to the overall study of that region of South America on which he is considered a foremost authority.
