About Andrew Cairnie

Andrew Carnie is Professor of Linguistics and Faculty Director in the Graduate College at the University of Arizona USA. His research concentrates on the grammar of Modern Irish Old Irish and Modern Scottish Gaelic with an emphasis on Minimalist approaches to morphosyntax and experimental approaches to phonology. He is the author or editor of nine books including Modern Syntax (Cambridge University Press 2011) Constituent Structure (Oxford University Press 2nd edition 2010) Irish Nouns (Oxford University Press 2008) Syntax: A Generative Introduction (Wiley-Blackwell 2006) and Verb First (John Benjamins 2003) as well as numerous articles.
