About Deborah Denenholz MorseDiane Long Hoeveler

Diane Long Hoeveler is Professor of English at Marquette University USA. She has published widely on a variety of topics within literature including gothic and religious transformations romanticism and gender and women writers in the nineteenth century. Most recently she is author of The Gothic Ideology: Religious Hysteria and AntiCatholicism in British Popular Fiction 17701870 (2014) and Gothic Riffs: Secularizing the Uncanny in the European Imaginary 17801820 (2010) which shared the Allan Lloyd Smith Memorial Award from the International Gothic Association. She is coeditor ofthe threevolume The Encyclopedia of Romantic Literature (with Burwick and Goslee Wiley Blackwell 2012) . Hoeveler served as President of the International Conference of Romanticism from 20012003 and is now coeditor of the European Romantic Review.
