About
Gideon Nieman is a professor emeritus and former head of the Department of Business Management at the University of Pretoria. He has a BCom (Accounting) and an MBA degree from the University of Pretoria and a PhD from the former Vista University in South Africa. He is also the co-owner of two franchise restaurants. Cecile Nieuwenhuizen is head of the Department of Business Management at the University of Johannesburg. She obtained her MBL at the UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership and her PhD in Business Management from the former Potchefstroom University. She is on the editorial board of various academic journals. She has established entrepreneurial small businesses with her family that have grown to become successful medium-sized businesses in business services as well as the development and management of retirement villages mid-care and frail care. Both editors have presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and are authors editors and co-editors of several publications on entrepreneurship. Most of the contributors have set up small businesses of their own and so have personal experience of the subject.
