Mathematical Analysis and Applications in Biological Phenomena through Modelling: ICMAAM-2023, Kolkata, India, October 911

English

This volume presents a comprehensive compilation of chapters whose topics were presented at the 2nd International Conference on Mathematical Analysis and Application in Modeling (CMAAM-2023), held at the Department of Mathematics & the Center for Mathematical Biology and Ecology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, from 911 October 2023. It encompasses groundbreaking research on cutting-edge developments across various branches of mathematics and its applications in diverse disciplines. In the realm of epidemiology, the book delves into the utilization of advanced tools such as fractional calculus, optimal control therapy and impulse therapeutic approaches. These tools, integrated with mathematical models, offer innovative solutions for managing various diseases and optimizing drug dose regimens. Beyond the scope of epidemiology, the book also incorporates chapters elucidating fundamental concepts in pure mathematics. These include explorations of topological phenomena and diverse algebraic concepts. This dual focus on applied mathematics and pure mathematical principles enhances the book's usability, catering to a broad audience of researchers and scholars. The book primarily targets young researchers engaged in the specified areas of study. By bridging the gap between theoretical mathematics and real-world applications, it serves a valuable resource, providing insights and methodologies that contribute to advancements in research and application across multiple disciplines.

About

Priti Kumar Roy is Professor at the Department of Mathematics Jadavpur University Kolkata West Bengal India. Earlier he served several government colleges in different parts of West Bengal. He is an eminent member of several national and international societies: the Biomathematical Society of India the International Association of Engineers the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and the European Society for Mathematical and Theoretical Biology. He has received the Best Paper Award at the World Congress on Engineering 2010 in London. Awarded the Siksha Ratan Award in 2012 he has published several research papers on control therapeutic approaches and host-pathogen interactions on infectious and non-infectious diseases to enlighten new insights. With over 120 peer-reviewed research papers more than 50 invited talks (abroad) and 30 invited talks (India) in different international and national institutes he is a dedicated researcher in mathematical modelling and an expert in numerical and analytical solutions to complex problems on real-life system dynamics. He has published two books Mathematical Models for Therapeutic Approaches to Control HIV Disease Transmission (Springer in 2015) and Mathematical Models for Therapeutic Approaches to Control Psoriasis (Springer in 2019). He also edited two books Insight and Control of Infectious Disease in Global Scenario and A Collection of Writings Objective Articulation from Socio-Academic Spectrum. His research interests are in epidemiological issues on chronic infectious diseases such as HIV Cutaneous Leishmaniasis and filariasis bio-diesel production enzyme kinetics methanol toxicity etc. He also works on neglected tropical diseases like psoriasis and has formulated robust mathematical models on the dynamics of such diseases.  Xianbing Cao is Professor and Director at Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) China. Earlier he served as Dean of the School of Science BTBU. He received his Ph.D. degree in stochastic control theory from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. He is an eminent researcher in the field of bio-statistics. A well-known active global statistician and mathematician he published several research papers in several international journals of repute. He is the author or co-author of two books on stochastic and adaptive control systems and probability theory. His research interests include stochastic control systems system identification and financial time series analysis. Xue-Zhi Li is Professor and Vice-President of Henan Normal University Xinxiang China. Before joining this administrative post he served as Vice-President of Anyang Institute of Technology and a Dean at the College of Mathematics and Information Science Henan Normal University Xinxiang China. An internationally reputed mathematical biologist he has authored two books and contributed more than 176 papers in several national and international journals of repute. Arindam Bhattacharya is Professor at the Department of Mathematics Jadavpur University Kolkata West Bengal India. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Calcutta in 2005 marking the beginning of a prolific academic journey. He has cultivated a rich expertise in several specialized fields in mathematics making substantial contributions to differential geometry Ricci flow and computational geometry. His research focus extends to almost-contact and contact manifolds where he has delved into the intricacies of these mathematical structures. In addition his profound insights into Ricci flow on Riemannian manifolds have significantly advanced his understanding of this fundamental geometric process. A notable aspect of his academic profile is his proficiency in computational geometry a field at the intersection of mathematics and computer science. He has explored innovative approaches and solutions in this dynamic area.
