A Second Revolution
English
By (author): Kelly Noll
A motocross family is caught up in a dystopian second American revolutionary war. They must flee their home and head for the safety of the mountains. The father, Jerrett, is determined to protect his family from the newly formed Elite Guards, who reign over the people with an iron fist. Danger awaits them along the way as they search for safety and peace. When the family reach the remote motocross track, they find kindred spirits among the others who have fled. Will they finally be safe or will the horrors of a modern war will follow them?
This is a heartbreaking, down to earth and suspenseful tale of an American father, who, just like any human father on Earth will do anything to protect his family. This is the story, Kelly Noll, American writer and teacher born and raised in Lancaster County, PA has chosen to write as her first novel.
Like the film Civil War from Alex Garland, A Second Revolution is a journey across a dystopian future America and is following a motocross community trying to escape the horrors of a new type of war in leaving their home for safety.
Elite guards, checkpoints, drones, disappearance of people and secret camps are all there to construct a realistic culture of fear which resonates with today wars and policing in too many countries.
The story starts at the races, and carry on to the campfires, and then to Jerrett's home and to his shop named JN Cycles, a roomy two-bay garage with large show room attached ,then to the mountains following a catastrophe at a Rally, with some complications on the road and a rescue at a secret camp. Jerrett is a normal guy, a family man not involved in politics. How will he protect his family? Will he have to join the militia? Gadsden phrase Don't trade on me and it rattlesnake will appear on bikes and more. Resistance will happen.
Well written, with a dynamic pace and simple words, A Second Revolution is the story of a normal guy confronted by new scares and the need to put his family to safety. See more
