The Nine Gifts

English

for SATB and organ This stirring Christmas song, setting a text by Kevin Crossley-Holland, combines bouncing rhythms, expressive Chilcott harmonies, and vibrant word-painting to depict the gifts brought to Christ's stable. Unison sections are contrasted with imitative writing, and an undulating piano part creates a sense of drive. An ideal addition to Christmas services and concerts for more experienced choirs.
