At the age of twenty, after obtaining a head injury, I was sent for a CT scan to check for any skull or brain damage and sent home with the all clear. I didn''t know it at the time, but doctors had completely missed a brain tumour. This book is my story about the highs and lows I have experienced over this ten-year journey I have been on since then. Being misdiagnosed and then formally diagnosed with a brain tumour, understandably comes with many ordeals including; handling my emotions, dealing with the consequences and difficulties presented by a brain tumour and the benefits as, believe it or not there has been some. I want to share my story from the beginning in the hope of helping others who may have had to deal similar struggles in life.

About Matthew Carpenter
An award winning life saver (14 lives to be exact!) It''s only because of good timing and sheer luck that Matthew is alive today. In his early twenties he discovered that his true passion was to help and inspire others by turning his own mental health struggles into a positive that could help inspire others while also breaking the stigma attached to mental health. Little did Matthew realise at the time he was unknowingly battling a brain tumour that had been missed during a scan at the age of twenty. After a series of struggles and set backs on his long road to recovery Matthew decided that he would dedicate his time to using his own struggles in the hope he can show others that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel.
