Havoc in the Head: The Stolen Self of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy

Discussion presented by a narrator (an epileptic) which includes his personal experiences with a life-time of temporal lobe epilepsy, a selection of the poetry he has written about the double-selves caused by his epilepsy, the experiences of famous sufferers of TLE, such as Dostoyevsky, Lear, Flaubert, Tennyson, Poe, Machado de Assis, and others (via their correspondence and their literature), and the supporting evidence of medical knowledge. There is interplay between the narration, the epileptic episodes, the poetry, the interpretation of literary extracts from the authors cited above, and the medical knowledge.
