Andrew G. Walder is the Denise OLeary and Kent Thiry Professor of Sociology and a Senior Fellow at the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies Stanford University. He has previously held faculty positions at Columbia Harvard and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
