About
Thomas Hewitt Jones is an award-winning composer of both concert and commercial music. Winner of the 2003 BBC Young Composer Competition he studied music at Cambridge University where he was also organ scholar of Gonville and Caius College. His concert work has been heard on BBC radio and television and in many of the major UK concert halls including the Royal Festival Hall the Southbank Centre and the Royal Albert Hall. Thomas has written extensively for ballet including three full-length productions for UK tours by Welsh company Ballet Cymru. He has worked with numerous acclaimed ensembles such as the Britten Sinfonia Sounds Positive members of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Carducci Quartet. He has had pieces published by Novello Oxford University Press Faber Music Boosey & Hawkes ABRSM Encore Publications and the RSCM. Thomas has worked in Hollywood and is the composer and conductor for the soundtracks of the 2012 Olympics Mascots animated films.
