Thomas J. Aicher is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs where he teaches Sport Facility and Event Management Sport Selling and Analytics and College Sport Administration. Dr. Aicher has been an active scholar examining the motivations and meanings that people associate with participation in events as well as the impacts associated with those events in the host communities. He has been published in leading academic journals including the International Journal of Event and Festival Management Journal of Travel Tourism and Marketing Journal of Sport and Tourism International Journal of Sport Management and Marketing International Journal of Sport Management and several others.Dr. Aicher earned his PhD in sport management from Texas A&M University in 2009. He holds a masters degree in sport management from Texas A&M and a bachelors degree in marketing management from Virginia Tech. Prior to entering academia Dr. Aicher worked for several sport organizations including the Salem Avalanche the Durham Bulls and First and 10 Marketing. With the latter two organizations he managed several sport- and nonsport-related events. He has continued his endeavors in event planning throughout his academic career. Brianna L. Newland is the Academic Director for Undergraduate Programs and Clinical Associate Professor of Sport Management at New York University where she teaches Applied Research in Sport. Dr. Newland has been an active scholar exploring how sport events can be leveraged to develop sport and community how sport organizations sustain their future by attracting and nurturing participation within the organization and via events and how particular factors may foster or hinder adult participation in sport. Dr. Newland has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Sport Management Sport Management Review Managing Leisure and Sport Marketing Quarterly.'Dr. Newland earned her doctorate in sport management from the United States Sports Academy in 2006 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007. She holds a masters degree in exercise physiology and nutrition and a bachelors degree in exercise science from the University of NebraskaLincoln. Dr. Newland has also served as a race director for endurance sports for over 10 years which is where she gained her real-life experience in event management. Amanda L. Paule-Koba is an Associate Professor of Sport Management at Bowling Green State University where she teaches Sport and Event Management Sport and Gender Contemporary Issues and Sport in Higher Education. Dr. Paule-Koba has been an active scholar examining issues in intercollegiate sport (such as the recruitment process academic clustering and athlete development) gender equity policies and Title IX. Dr. Paule-Koba has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Sport Management International Journal of Sport Management Sport Management Review Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport Journal of Intercollegiate Sport Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics and Women in Sport and Physical Activity Journal. She is also the cofounder and coeditor of the Journal of Athlete Development and Experience.Dr. Paule-Koba earned her PhD in sport sociology from Michigan State University in 2008.
