A.L. Wegwerth hails from Minnesota the State of Hockey and is what you might consider a pioneer in womens hockey. She played high school and college hockey before an injury forced her to hang up her skates for a few years. These days you can find her on the ice either coaching youth hockey or playing a game of shinny in the backyard with her three kids. She is the author of four other books including Hockey Talk: Sauce Spinorama and More Ice-Time Lingo a book for die-hard hockey fans.Alana McCarthy is an illustrator letterer and designer who lives in Toronto Canada with her husband two boys and a big orange cat Pumpkin. Throughout her award-winning career her eye-catching imagery has graced childrens books magazines murals ads and more.
